Lake Burley Griffin 2, Australian Capital Territory

Lake Burley Griffin on a sunny day.  Walking in nature actually does something good to my brain and the way I think.

Views and reeds

Ducks! Oh and if you look at the trees in the distance, they seem to be "dipping" their bottoms
in the lake.

Yet another angle

Love these bullrushes

Carillon.  Oh and clover in the foreground

The Machinist Walks on

Lake Burley Griffin 1, Australian Capital Territory

We didn't fancy walking.  Not because it was raining, but because - well - we just didn't fancy it.  But we went after all.  We had no plans as to where we were going to walk.  The Machinist just pulled up at Lake Burley Griffin.  We got out.  We walked.

This is what we saw:  Scenes from around (part of) Lake Burley Griffin:

Swans on the lake

It LOOKS cold, don't you think?

I loved the way these were blowing in the wind.  I'm amazed it's not blurry.

The other side of the Lake - Lots of Oak trees!

Approaching Parliament House

After a brisk walk - hot coffee at Hudsons of Dickson (my brother's old cafe)

They still use the names my brother allocated to sandwiches, bagels and drinks.  This makes
me smile, as the new owners are Asian and the names are so very British!

Cotter Dam, Australian Capital Territory

We took our 5 year old grand-daughter, Keiralea to the Cotter Dam.

Onwards ahead!

I wish I could have dug this up!

It seems like this home-owner had gone out picnicking for the day....

A melange of Oak - our namesake!

The river

Stepping Stones

Shall I?  Dare I?

No.  I will sit and observe the riverbank

I doubt I will ever tire of the oak and its acorns

Papa will tire of the chase, though!

Kangaroo Valley Bushland, New South Wales

After exploring the Pioneer Village at Kangaroo Valley, the Machinist and I had a bit of a hike in the nearby bushland.

Old Bridge at Kangaroo Valley

Rocks, moss and lichen = slippery!

I just love this bushland floor collage

"Be careful on the decline, Helen!"

Can you see it?  Can you see the beauty in this collection?

Mossy rocks and - although you can't see them here - lots of rabbit holes.

I had to contain myself and NOT go hop pity-hopping on these rocks.  Instead, I listened
and delighted in the trickle of the stream

CATERPILLARS & KEEPING IT REAL

Table talk amongst our children is and always has been, -  a rabbit warren . We start off in one hole and end up in another -  quick smart....
