Fed Up...

I've just returned home from the first shift of the day in a torrid commercial kitchen.  Bubbling pots, steamy dishwasher, radiant warming lights, hot cooking oil, scalding grill. It's 32 degrees outside.  Hotter inside.

The Machinist has been working on a feacal-and-urine-infested horsefloat, and is aghast at what some fabricators can get away with as 'safe' and 'sturdy'.

Roll on the opportunity to create wonderful metal art, as well as artistic pies! Delays suck...

Yup, we usually do survive most things that make us crazy. Does that mean we're insane because we keep doing the same thing, getting the same results, yet expect different results? Perhaps, but sometimes I can be such the optimist, LOL!

It's temporary...possibly even a lot longer than you really care to contemplate, but oh how much the sweeter when the dream becomes reality.
Hope you have a better day today.

DC, thanks for your understanding, and yes, just commenting and considering do help!

SP, I remember hearing long ago that the thing we learn from history, is that we don't learn from history! I am like you - I EXPECT different results..hee hee...

KD , you're right - it's temporary and who knows really how long it will take with all the finer, minor details. Thanks for reminding me of the prize. Oh, and I had a much better day!

I know only too well how you felt on your first shift.I can tell you, through first hand knowledge that it will get better,or rather, you will get used to it.
After a career nursing,i retrained as a cook and dietition and took a job in a small hospital.I worked 4 nine hour sifts in a kitchen described by you.The responsibility of getting out three meals a day to 65 residents plus staff ,was at first daunting, but i loved the job and the end was result was happy well fed residents.
Rejoice and pat yourself on the back and remember the fruits of your labour are what counts.
